KINSMAN — George A. Steele, age 89, of Kinsman, Ohio, died Friday, March 28, 2014, at UPMC Horizon Hospital in Greenville, Pa.
He was born Feb. 23, 1925, in Saginaw, Mich., the son of William Steele and Mary (Frye) Mitkoff. A resident of Kinsman for the past twelve years, Mr. Steele was a former long time resident of Pierpont, Ohio. He was a Veteran having served in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Steele was employed as a machinist for many years at Frank's Tractor Sales in Austinburg, Ohio, retiring in 1989. He owned and operated a farm for many years; and was a great handyman. He especially enjoyed fixing cars and motorcycles. He and his wife loved to attend the Hungarian Cultural Society events held in Chardon, Ohio.
Mr. Steele is survived by his wife, Theresa M. (Teller) Steele, whom he married Feb. 22, 1947, of Kinsman; daughter, Lynda Minor of Greenville, S.C.; four grandchildren, Todd (Tammy) Nichols, Kelly (Scott) Nichols, Amber (Dennis) Slick and Amanda Faraj; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Timmy Steele in 1995.
Mr. Steele will be cremated and no services held.
