FT. PIERCE, Fla. — Maurice D. Shahan, age 72, of Hendersonville, Tenn., died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
Born Nov. 21, 1940, in St. George, W.Va., he was the son of Pearl and Charles Shahan and was a graduate of Madison High School. He married his high school sweetheart Sandra Swiger of Madison.
Maurice worked in various businesses in Ohio before moving to Hendersonville, Tenn., where he was employed at Yellow Freight, retiring in 2007.
Maurice enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and boating on Tennessee lakes.
Besides his parents, Maurice was preceded in death by his brothers, Alva (Doris Coy), Jay (Sandra Dalin) and Arthur (Brenda Norris).
Maurice is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Annette (Mike) Thompson of Flagler Beach, Fla., Maryette (Terry) Pederson of Gallaton, Tenn., Angenette (Harry) Johnsey of Lebanon, Tenn., and Dawnette (Tim) Jolly of Hendersonville, Tenn. Also surviving are his brothers, David (Kathryn) Shahan of Hacker Valley, W.Va., and Alan (Barbara) Shahan of Orwell, Ohio; sisters, Mildred (Ed) Zasadzinski of Jefferson, Ohio, Alice (Thomas) Good of Painesville, Ohio, Mary (Robert) Johnson of Lebanon, Ohio, and Dorothy (Robert) Kerbel of Amarillo, Texas; and 11 beautiful grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
A Service was held for the immediate family in Ft. Pierce.
