DUBLIN — Conneaut, Ohio, native Betty L. (Hubbard) Kincaid, age 61, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013.
She was born April 1, 1951, in Conneaut and was the daughter of the late Albert L. and Sarah L. (Hellekson) Hubbard.
Betty graduated in 1969 from Conneaut High School. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in education from Bowling Green University and taught school for a year in the Pymatuning School District. While in Conneaut, Betty served as organist for a time at the former St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. She then moved to Columbus where she taught English as a second language in Worthington High School until retiring in 2002.
After moving to Columbus, Betty met and married her best friend, Larry Kincaid, on August 23, 1975. She enjoyed reading, quilting and embroidery. Betty and Larry traveled and camped in many places around the country. She loved to listen to him sing karaoke.
In addition to Larry, she leaves behind two step-sons, Steven and Matthew Kincaid, who she raised as her own; her sister, Susan (Bob) Marcy of Conneaut, Ohio; two nieces, Lisa Quinn of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sarah (Keith) Sherman of Conneaut, Ohio, and their daughters, Ashlyn and Kylee Sherman; her uncle, The Rev. Hugh (Senetta) Hubbard Jr. of Moncks Corner, S.C.; and a number of cousins, and step-nieces and nephew.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 26th, at the TIDD FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, Ohio, with a Memorial Service taking place at 6:30 p.m.
