KINGSVILLE —  Ida S. Naddra, age 88, formerly of Sherman St., Geneva, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 21, 1924, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of William and Rhoda (Ashi) Salem and had been an area resident since the 1950’s. She married Thomas Naddra on June 28, 1942.

Prior to her retirement, she and her husband owned and operated the Avalon Tavern in Geneva and they previously owned and operated the Green Lantern in Chardon.

Fluent in speaking Arabic, she also enjoyed reading, playing cards, shopping at Higbees, politics, crafts, especially making rugs, and being with her family.

Her survivors include four children, Elaine Naddra of Ashtabula, George and Mary Naddra of Montgomery, Ala., Cynthia and Robert Walters of Ashtabula and Juliann Morrison of Geneva; four grandchildren, Denise (Jim) DiDonato, Robert Morrison and Michael and Kristina Naddra; and three great-grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew DiDonato and Kaden Naddra.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Naddra in 1991; half-brother, Thomas Meena; and her parents.

A Service will be held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Geneva.

Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home, Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of Service.

The family wishes to express its deepest gratitude to the administration and staff of the Ashtabula County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, as well as, its sincere appreciation to the staff of Hospice of the Western Reserve.

Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, American Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
