ASHTABULA — George Leray Barnett, age 30, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 22, 2013, while visiting family in Ashtabula.
He was born Feb. 10, 1983, in Ashtabula, the son of Raymond and Cecilia (Pavolko) Barnett and had been living in Mobile, Ala. for the past year.
George attended Harbor High School, ACJVS, and Kent State University, Ashtabula Campus. He had worked as a car salesman for Great Lake Auto Network and always had a love for cars and motorcycles.
A talented artist, he loved to draw and travel. George was energetic, spontaneous, and adventurous, always living life for the experience. He enjoyed shooting pool and music of all kinds, but mostly enjoyed being with his family and friends.
His survivors include his parents of Ashtabula; his companion, Lauren Delehanty, whom he lived with for the past year; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister and her son, Julia and Ryan Ike Barnett; and his grandparents, George Barnett, King Solomon and Nettie McKibbins, and George and Mary Pavolko.
A Calling Hour will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon, Friday, August 30th,with a Service to follow at 12 Noon, at the Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. John Salters, Pastor of GO Ministries, will officiate. Burial will be in Ridgeview Cemetery.
