ASHTABULA — Anthony A. “Tony” “Ritter” Martino, age 74, of Westwood Drive, passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Tony was born April 24, 1939 and was a lifelong resident of Ashtabula. A 1957 graduate of Ashtabula High School, he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1957 through 1959.

Tony began his professional career at Reliance Electric from 1960 to 1980, ending his tenure as Plant Superintendent. In 1980, he became part owner of Trans-Plastics  where he served as President. He then went on to hold numerous executive positions with Sudbury Holding until 1994. From 2000 to 2007, he was the President of WEK Industries. In 2011, he purchased AAM Mold and Machine (formerly B&B Precision Tool) in Ashtabula.

He served as President of Ashtabula Country Club in 1997 and was a partner in the Harbor Golf Club. He was a member of the Ashtabula Business Alliance, the Ashtabula Area Schools Business Advisory Council, the Ashtabula County Growth Partnership Task Force, The Ashtabula County Medical Center Foundation Board, and the Ashtabula Elks Club for over 32 years.

Tony was preceded in death by his father, Anthony James Martino; his mother, Stella Fannie (Nappi) Martino; and his sister, JoAnn (Martino) Mauri.  

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Linda (Onorato) Martino; his sister, Jayne (David) Fortney of Ashtabula; his five children, Michelle (Martino) DeLaat and her husband Gordon, Tina (Martino) Taylor and her husband John, Michele (Azzano) Rocco and her husband Jim, Lisa (Martino) Raffa and her husband Alec, and Tony Martino and his wife, Michelle; nine grandchildren, Jamie and Tony DeLaat, Samantha and Alexandra Nappi, Ali Rocco, Madeline and Mia Martino, and A.J. and Alivia Raffa; and many nieces, nephews and friends.  

He will be sadly missed by his wife and family, whom he adored and loved unconditionally. His goodwill, generosity and giving nature touched not only his family and friends, but more importantly colleagues, community and complete strangers.

Calling Hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 20th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 21st, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with the Rev. Raymond Thomas presiding. American Legion Dewey-Howlett Post #103 will provide Full Military Honors at the Church following the Mass.
