KINGSVILLE — Linda M. Doxsie, age 78, passed away Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home.
She was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Ashtabula, the daughter of Charles and Evelyn (McCool) Doxsie and had been a lifelong Ashtabula resident.
A 1953 graduate of Harbor High School, Linda worked for 44 years at the Ashtabula County Medical Center (formerly Ashtabula General Hospital). After her retirement, she volunteered for many years at the front desk of the hospital and was also a member of Ohio Reads helping young children in the area learn to gain an appreciation for reading.
A member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Linda was very active and belonged to the Mary Margaret Guild and taught Sunday School for many years.
Linda is survived by her sister, Kathryn D. (Ray) McCarty of Ashtabula; nephews, Tim (Teresa) McCarty and their children, Shawn, Madeline and Leyna of North Canton and Kevin (Melissa) McCarty and their daughter, Margaret “Maggie” of Canal Winchester; and cousin, Cheryl Webb Scott of Boston.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother.
Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, April 20th, in Ridgeview Cemetery. No calling hours will be observed.
