SEYMOUR, Mo. — Eleanor “Jean” West, of Seymour, Mo., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, in her home surrounded by family.
She was born in Ashtabula, Ohio, on Oct. 26, 1941, to Joseph H. and Eleanor Mae (McFarland) Jones.
In addition to her parents, Eleanor was preceded in death by a grandson, Mathew James Gast.
Jean, as she was known to her family and friends, leaves behind four children; sons, Joseph Johnson and wife Tammie of Pierpont, Ohio, and Daniel Johnson and wife Linsey; daughters, Christina Strong and husband Jimmie, and Roberta Terrill and husband Donnie, all of Seymour, Mo.; grandchildren, Tiffanie, Regina, Courtney, Brandi, Kayla, Lacy, Danielle, Brandon and Clint; great-grandchildren, Dixie, Matthew, Madisyn, Kinsley, Payton, Hunter, Bentley, and two more on the way; her sister, Joanne Rocco and husband Al of Geneva, Ohio; as well as several other family members and dear friends.
Jean enjoyed spending time with her family, reading and doing genealogy online. She had worked at Trans Plastics in Ohio, and spent time as a waitress and a caretaker in an adult handicap group home. She will be dearly missed by many.
Jean’s wish was for cremation. A Memorial Service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 7th, at Seymour Freewill Baptist Church.
