ASHTABULA — Caroline C. Hayes, age 88, of Ashtabula, died Thursday afternoon, April 11, 2013, in Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born April 16, 1924, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Louis and Carmella (Alouise) Pertrunger. Caroline was a graduate of Harbor High School and on Sept. 9, 1950, she married Roy John Hayes.
She enjoyed teaching ceramics and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel/Our Lady of Peace Parish.
Survivors include her sons, David (Bonita) Hayes of Jefferson and John R. Hayes of Geneva; grandchildren, Matthew (Sonya) Hayes and Mallory (Nicholas) Aliff; and great-granddaughter, Julia Hayes; her beloved dog, “Katie”; and the many family and friends that cared for her over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy Hayes; brothers, Frank, Michael, James and Joseph Pertrunger; sisters, Rose Salvato, Jeannette Decker and Mary Feralo.
Funeral Service will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, April 15th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with entombment to follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of Service, Monday, at the Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ashtabula County Animal Protective League or County Club Retirement Center Activities Dept.
