ASHTABULA — Francis V. Arp, age 92, of Ashtabula, died Thursday evening, Dec. 12, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born March 9, 1923, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Alexander and Anna (Carbon) Arp. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in WWII.
He retired from USPS. Francis was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and the American Legion Post 103. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family.
Survivors include his son, Jerry (Candy) Arp of Austinburg; daughters, JoAnn (George) Jacobs of Georgia and LuAnn (Bob) Morris of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Dan, Penny, Lori, Debbie (David), Kevin (Sarah) and Madison; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Nick, Leah, Kelsey, Justina, Darian, Benjamin, Kaitlyn and Tristan; step-sister, Delores Briel of Conneaut; brother-in-law, Cosmos Costello of Ashtabula; sister-in-law, Carmie Arp of Painesville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 60 years, Lucille Arp; brothers, Henry, Jay and Albert Arp; sister, Felicita Vitale; step-sisters, Mary Lyons, Helen Colucci, Margaret Norris and Josephine Butts; and step-brother, Felix Castrilla.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon, Tuesday, Dec. 17th, in Our Lady of Peace Parish Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery with Military Honors being conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard Team from Post 103.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula.
