A Memorial Service for Patricia A. (Waldvogel) Eichenlaub, age 58, of Madison, Ohio, will be 3 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at the New Life Church, 4080 Call Road, Perry, Ohio. A gathering for family and friends will be held following the service at a time and place to be announced.
Pat passed away from cancer Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at her home, shortly after a visit from all of her close family. Her husband and mother-in-law, with the aid of the Hospice of the Western Reserve, helped her transition from this life to the next.
Born Jan. 22, 1951, she grew up in Mentor and Mentor-on-the-Lake before moving to Madison. She graduated from Mentor High School, worked for the Cleveland and Lake County Credit Bureaus and the Perry Nuclear Power Plant before retiring to become a full time Mom.
Pat was an active member of the Ashtabula Power Squadron, a division of the United States Power Squadrons a safe boating organization, eventually becoming a Squadron Commander. She was also active with the Spirit of America, a national youth boating and water safety education program where she taught the use of small power boats on the Ashtabula River and Lake Erie. Pat enjoyed boating, gardening and feeding our feathered friends from her backyard deck.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Eichenlaub, to whom she was married for 25 years; father, Frank J. (Wilma) Waldvogel; mother-in-law, Eulalie Eichenlaub; sons, Christian K. (Kristie) Sievers of Willoughby and Joshua H. (Lamatha) Sievers of Madison; grandchildren, Jacob, Robbie, Ariana and Shea; and siblings, Frank L. (Dani) Waldvogel of York, S.C., Kris T. Waldvogel of Apopka, Fla., and Rick E. (Joan Oneacer) Waldvogel.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Marie Waldvogel.
There will not be a viewing or funeral as it was Pat’s wish that her body be donated to medical science. So she gave herself to the Case Western Reserve University.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Pat’s name may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 300 East 185th St., Cleveland, Ohio 44119 or the Sarcoma Foundation of America, 9884 Main St., Damascus, Md. 20872.
