GENEVA — Richard A. Hemme, age 56, a resident of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, in Geneva.
Born Sept. 13, 1953, in Erie, Pa., the son of Elizabeth (Washek) and Richard O. Hemme. He was a 1972 graduate of McDowell High in Millcreek, Pa. and received a BS degree from Edinboro University.
Richard was employed by Aqua America for 33 years, most recently as a filter plant operator in Mentor, Ohio, where he served as the local union president. He enjoyed reading, photography, horticulture and traveling.
Survivors include a son, R. J. Hemme of Cleveland; daughter, Marygrace Hemme of Memphis, Tenn.; his father, Richard O. Hemme of Millcreek, Pa.; sister, Shirley Hipps of Lynchburg, Va.; and his cherished friend, Margaret Crannell Hemme of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 9th, at Assumption Catholic Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva, Ohio, with the Rev. Melvin Rusnak, presiding. Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Erie, Pa.
