She was a member of the Jefferson Garden Club and when her children were young, she was a den mother for the scouts, an active member in the Jefferson Band and Athletic Boosters and participated in the Falcon Follies. Her survivors include three sons, Robert Y. (Nancy) of Jefferson, Garth (Sherry) of Ashtabula (Saybrook Township) and James (Joyce) of Dorset; one daughter, Dona (Charles) Borsukoff of Jefferson; six grandchildren, Robert Y. Jr., Roger, Heidi, Alexis, Cassandre and Charlie; one great-grandson, Chase Wilber; three great-granddaughters, Ava Wilber, Sienna Moore and Kailyn Cornell; and one sister, Lois Olson of Lakewood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert on June 5, 2005; two brothers, Frank Durst and Edward Durst; one sister, Carole Barnhardt; and her parents.
