ASHTABULA — Eleanor E. Hitsman Dodge, age 73, of Ashtabula, died Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, Pa. She had been in failing health for several months.
Born Feb. 11, 1935, in Gouverneur, N.Y., she was the daughter of George and Emma (Finley) Hitsman.
Survivors include four sisters, Grace (Carl) Spearance of Lisbon, N.Y., Ramona (Ross) Violi of Massena, N.Y., Sylvia (Glen) Brownlee of Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, and Georgia “Skip” (Raymond) Wood of Massena, N.Y.; one brother, James M. Hitsman of Norfolk, N.Y.; several nieces and newphews; step-daughter, Deborah A. (David) Olson of Ashtabula; and step-son, James G. (Clarissa) Dodge, Jr. of Elkins, W. Va.; and three step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Dodge, Sr., on July 2, 2008.
Funeral Services are 1 p.m., Monday, July 21, at the POTTI FUNERAL HOME, 2726 Hubbard Road, Madison, Ohio, where friends will be received Monday, from 10:30 a.m., until 1 p.m. Burial will be in N. Madison Cemetery.
