Young Saturday, July 19,2008 Star Beacon ASHTABULA — Aili M. Young, age 90, of Ashtabula, passed away Friday, July 18, 2008, at the University Medical Center in Conneaut.
Born Dec. 27, 1917, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of John and Louise Mikkanen and was a lifelong area resident. Aili had worked as a kitchen and cafeteria worker for the Buckeye School systems until retiring. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ashtabula. Survivors include her daughters, Lenora Mullen of Saybrook, and Jo Ellen Rose of Ashtabula; son, Homer Young of Ashtabula; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leonard, Sr.; son, Leonard, Jr.; and daughter, Rosella Lewis. Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Monday, July 21, at POTTI LAKESIDE FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 1329 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Meranda of Messiah Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville. Calling hours are 12 noon until service time on Monday. Contributions may be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church Scholarship Fund.
