GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE — Jackie “Jack” R. Napier, Sr., age 60, of Geneva-on-the-Lake, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2008 at his home.
Born Sept. 11, 1947, in Wayne, W. Va., he was the son of Donald Napier and Rose Spence. He spent most of his life in W. Virginia and the last 23 years in the Geneva area. He married his first wife Diana Lynn (Holbrooks) on Aug. 5, 1967 in Covington, Va., and his second wife Debra J. (Reynolds) Holbrooks-Napier on March 14, 1985 in Port Charlotte, Fla.
Jack worked at Commercial Laundry in W. Virginia and Ohio for 30 years, then as a machinist for the last ten years in Ohio.
He loved camping, bowling, fishing, four wheeling, spending time with his family, and hanging out with people just talking and getting to know them, and he loved beating the “pants off” anyone playing horse shoes and cards.
Survivors include his wife, Debra; children, Jack, Jr. (Celeste) Napier of Painesville, Ohio, Jeffrey (Tracy) Napier, Tammy (John Carroll) Napier, Teresa (Todd) Grenier, all of Geneva, Ohio, Barbara (Steven) Eslick of Pond Creek, Okla., Randy, Jr. (Melissa) Holbrooks of Fairport, Ohio, Jeremy (Janet) Holbrooks of Madison, Ohio, and Rebecca (Michael) Hasenauer of Geneva, Ohio; 24 grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Richard Spence, Judy Napier, Joyce Jackson, Clay “Bub” Napier and David (Heather) Napier, all of Huntington, W. Va., John (Rhonda) Napier of Lavallette, W. Va., Joann (Oscar) Justice of Wayne, W. Va., Betty (Bob) Jackson of Proctorville, Ohio, Cletis “Clete” (Glenda) Napier of Reserve, La., and Aunt Lou (Curtis) New of Huntington, W. Va.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Diana in 1981.
Calling Hours only in Geneva are 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, July 19, at the WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, Ohio.
Burial will be at Community Memorial Gardens in E. Lynn, W. Va.
Donations can be made to the family in care of the Funeral Home.
