ASHTABULA — Mary Albert, age 81, of Holden Dr., Ashtabula, died Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center Hospice Unit.
She was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Richmond Twp., Ohio, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel (Bebout) Burgess and had moved to the Ashtabula area in 1951.
She was a graduate of Andover High School in 1945. She was married to Russell P. Albert on April 27, 1947. She worked for many years with her husband at Albert’s Automotive in Ashtabula.
She was a member of a Child Conservation League at Ladies Social Group. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and also a member of several bowling leagues. She especially enjoyed bird watching and did considerable traveling; vacationing in warm climate areas later in life.
Family was the most important thing in her life and has been a constant guiding light for their lives. Throughout her illness, she kept a positive attitude and never lost her spirit to live.
Surviving her is her husband, Russell; two sons, Larry Ray (Jan) Albert of Perry, Ohio and Jeffrey Jay (Sharon) Albert of Ashtabula; seven grandchildren, Julie, Shawnda, Shad, Brian, Jenny, Amanda and Megan; four great-grandchildren, Erin, Laura, Allison and Ryan; and two sisters, Roberta Kerschner of Westlake, Ohio and Helen Howard of Phoenix, Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Judith Mae Albert in 2007; two brothers, Cecil Burgess and Gail Burgess; and a sister, Ruth Erwin.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 6th, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING &  BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W. Prospect Rd., Ashtabula, with the Rev. Glen Warner officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Andover, Ohio, at a later date.
Calling Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m., Sunday, July 5th, at the Funeral Home.
