CLEVELAND — Nancy M. McClusky, age 73, Station St., Rock Creek, died Sunday evening, June 28, 2009, at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident earlier in the day.
She was born January 18, 1936, in Cleveland, the daughter of Hugh F. and Anna (Labancz) Maher and has lived in the Rock Creek area most of her life. She was married to Richard W. McClusky on November 27, 1961, in Gates Mills.
Mrs. McClusky was a 21 year veteran of the Ashtabula Co. Sheriff’s Dept., retiring as a dispatcher in 2001. She was also an officer on the Rock Creek Police Dept.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the F.O.P., was head of the Ashtabula Co. Sheriff’s Patrol from 1975 to 2001 and the Ashtabula Co. Sheriff’s Dept. Cadet Program.
Survivors include her husband, Richard W. McClusky; three children, Theresa A. (Daniel Lohr) Brummitt of Rock Creek, Joseph P. (Donna Hierta) McClusky of Andover and Robert F. (Deborah) McClusky of Rock Creek; five grandchildren, Christopher and Nicholas Brummitt and Nathaniel, Meghan and Samuel McClusky; and a cousin who grew up with her, George Hall of San Bernardino, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Marilyn Sloat and Ellen Hathaway.
The Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 6th, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Creek, with the Rev. Fr. Gregory Fedor, as celebrant. Burial will be in Morgan Union Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday, July 5th, at the Jefferson Home of the FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson.
