— ASHTABULA — On Sunday, June 28, 2009, at 3:27 p.m., Fred Brais, died at the age of 69. He passed away in his home surrounded by his children.
Born to Alfred and Marie Brais in 1940, Fred raised his children, volunteered with the Saybrook Boys Baseball League, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Marie, and daughter, Beth Brashers.
He is survived by his father, Alfred Brais; brothers, Ron (Georgia) Brais of Ashtabula and Paul (Kathy) Brais of Whittier, Calif.; children, Kathy Brais of Manassas, Va., David (Jackie Steward) Brais of Ashtabula, Kim (John) Gantt of Leesburg, Va., Scott (Shonna) Brais of Ashburn, Va., Ricardo (Ceilo) Nimo of Mississippi and Patricia Snell of Beaver Creek, Ohio; and grandsons, Tyler Gantt, Victor, Kamau and Kimani Snell.
We would like to celebrate Fred’s life on Saturday, July 11th, with a gathering of his friends and family to remember the joys and laughter we shared with him. The celebration will be from 5 to 8 p.m. and will be held at Fred’s house at 4903 Hope Ave.
