NORWALK — Theron L. “Terry” Hunt, age 66, of Greenwich, Ohio, died Sunday, June 28, 2009, at Fisher Titus Medical Center, Norwalk, after a sudden illness.
Born August 14, 1942, in Geneva, Ohio, he was the son of the late Frank R. and Viola (Komsie) Hunt. Terry was a 1960 graduate of Geneva High School and a 1965 graduate of Ashland College.
He had taught Biology at South Central High School for 36 years, retiring in 2001.
Terry had coached football, basketball, baseball and had been athletic director at South Central. He continued to substitute teach after his retirement.
He was a member of the OEA and the NEA. In May of 2009, he received the State FFA Honorary Degree. He loved hunting, fishing, boating and watching his grandchildren and their sports.
He is survived by his wife, Virgie (Fry) Hunt, whom he married August 15, 1970; two sons, Darren (Jennifer) Hunt of Ashland and Chad (Amie) Hunt of North Charleston, S.C.; three grandchildren, Brennen, Chase and Ryanne Hunt, all of Ashland; his brothers, Rodney (Charlotte) Hunt of Geneva Lake, Ohio, Richard (Julie) Hunt of Ashtabula and Dennis (Vicki) Hunt of Summerville, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 1st., at the Ripley Church, 4130 South Edwards Road, Greenwich, where Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 2nd, with Pastor Dave Cobb and Pastor Bob Hudberg officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Grove Cemetery, Greenwich.
Memorials if desired may be given to the Terry Hunt Memorial Fund, in care of South Central High School, 3305 Angling Road, Greenwich, Ohio 44837.
