HAMBDEN TWP. — Harry E. Knaus, age 84, of Hambden Twp., died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at his residence.
He was born Dec. 29, 2009, in Cleveland, Ohio. He lived in Trumbull Twp. for 36 years before moving to Hambden 12 years ago.
He retired as a truck driver from the E.F. Connelly Constriction Company. He was a WW II Navy Veteran. He was a member of SNPJ Lodge #142, AFU Lodge #132, Teamsters Local 436 and the Musicians Union. He played drums in the polka band Musical Men in the 60’s - 70’s. He was active at the Burrough of SNPJ in Enon Valley, Pa. with all their activities and was fondly known as “Top of the Hill Harry”.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Mary (nee Grill); daughter, Rebecca (husband Gene) Nipple; son, Roderick; grandchildren, Lisa (Rony) Buie and Eric Mampel; and great-grandchildren, James, Tylor, Brett, Trey and Aiden.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lorelie; and brother, Frank Knaus Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 1st, at St. Mary’s Church, 401 North St., Chardon, Ohio. Burial will be in Trumbull Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, June 30th, at the DAN COSIC FUNERAL HOME, 28890 Chardon Road (between Bishop Road and Rt. 91), Willoughby Hills, Ohio.
