GENEVA — Michael C. Gentile Jr., age 68, of West Main St., died Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Lake West Hospital, Willoughby, following a short illness.
He was born May 31, 1941, in Ashtabula, the son of Michael and Filma (Salvato) Gentile and had been a life-long area resident.
A 1960 graduate of Ashtabula High School, he served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1967 as a photo interpreter for Army Intelligence. He was employed by Molded Fiberglass and RMI Extrusion, and created blueprints as a self-employed draftsman for several years prior to his retirement. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.
He is survived by his son, Michael Gentile, III of Geneva; sister, Elvera (Bob) Enricco of Ashtabula; and his brother, Thomas Gentile of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Gentile in 1994; and his parents.
A Service will be 11 a.m., Monday, June 29th, at the ZABACK-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect, Ashtabula, with Fr. Melvin Rusnak, of Church of the Assumption of Mary in Geneva, presiding. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Ashtabula.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, June 28th, at the Funeral Home.
