Coup, age 56, of Ashtabula, Ohio, will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 16, at the Newbury United Community Church, 14916 Auburn Road, Newbury. Mr. Coup passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 13, at the Cleveland Clinic. Michael L. Coup Thursday, May 15, 2008 Star Beacon ASHTABULA — A Memorial Service for Michael L. Coup, age 56, of Ashtabula, Ohio, will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, May 16, at the Newbury United Community Church, 14916 Auburn Road, Newbury. Mr. Coup passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 13, at the Cleveland Clinic.
Michael was born Feb. 18, 1952, in Akron, Ohio, to Lois “Jane” Grafton, and Richard G. Coup, and was a 1970 graduate of Firestone High School. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and enjoyed fishing, camping and traveling. He was a member of the Amboy Rifle Club and was an avid Steelers fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Susan (Portman) Coup, whom he married on June 26, 1976; mother, Lois “Jane” Grafton; son, Richard (Lindsay) Coup of Ashtabula; daughter, Kristina (Michael) Pierce of Ashtabula; grandsons, Michael, Caleb, and Daniel; brother, Tom (Kelly) Coup of Akron; step-sisters, Diane (Gordon) Ebersole of Pittsburgh, and Grace Lavery of Barberton; step-brother, George Saniat of Akron; step-mother, Juanita Coup of Akron; and many nieces and nephews. His father, Richard, preceded him in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family. SAM RITONDARO FUNERAL HOME of Chardon is handling the arrangements. Burial will be private.
