Riley, age 85 formerly of Dunbar Ave., Ashtabula, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Jefferson Health Care in Jefferson, Ohio. Viola F. Riley Thursday, May 15, 2008 Star Beacon ASHTABULA — Viola F. Riley, age 85 formerly of Dunbar Ave., Ashtabula, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at the Jefferson Health Care in Jefferson, Ohio.
Born March 26, 1923, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of John and Esther (Johnson) Peterson,and has been a lifetime area resident. She was a 1941 graduate of Ashtabula High School and she attended Cleveland Business School. She was office manager for Brought Beverages for twenty eight years. Viola is a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Ashtabula, where she was a member of the Naomi Circle and Altar Guild. She enjoyed music with organ music being her favorite, sewing, cooking, baking cookies and spending time with her family. Surviving her are four children, Linda (Lloyd) McLean of Sharpsburg, Ga., Nancy Mudd of Ashtabula, Michael (Sue) Riley of Ashtabula, and Timothy (Tari) Riley of Akron; ten grandchildren, Allyson, Andrea, Erin, Drew, Carl, Kara, J.C., Brian, Jason and Alexis; two great-granddaughters, Ava and Annabella; and her brothers, John Peterson of Ashtabula and Dr. James (Nancy) Peterson of Uniontown, Ohio. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 17, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with Dr. Michael Meranda officiating. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Calling hour are 10 a.m., Saturday, until the time of service, at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Messiah Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 615 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 or to Viola Riley Nursing Scholarship Memorial Fund, 222 East Beech St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047. The Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, 526 W.
