CONNEAUT — Leslie E. Blenman, age 64, of Broad St., Conneaut, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 13, 2008, at UH-Conneaut Medical Center.
Born April 5, 1944, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was a son to Edward and Mildred (Lawrence) Blenman, and was a lifelong resident attending Conneaut High School.
He was employed for 36 years with Iron Workers Local #17 in new construction I-Beams.
Leslie was a member of the Church of God and the Conneaut Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie No. 408. He loved woodworking and built many of his own pieces of furniture.
He is survived by his father, Edward Blenman of Conneaut; daughters, Tammy Blenman (Billy) of Willowick and Tracy Blenman (Steve) of Mentor; son, Scott Blenman of Mentor; brothers, Rev. Larry (Joyce) Blenman of Parkesburg, Pa., and Gary (Tammie) Blenman of N. Kingsville; sisters, Charlotte (Bert) Sloss of Bedford, Va., Diana (John) Guest of Conneaut, Rev. Karen (Richard) Bollinger of Naples, Fla., and Debby (Gene) Best of N. Kingsville; grandchildren, Cherise Eismon of Eastlake, Amanda Blenman and Kristy Krause both of Mentor, Scott Blenman, Rebecca Bolinger-Blenman and Amber Gau all of Mentor; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Blenman.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday May 17, 2008, at the THOMPSON-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Karen Bollinger, officiating. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 16, at the Funeral Home.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Church of God, 5327 Center Rd., Conneaut.
