ASHTABULA — Margaret I. Hatmaker, age 82, of S. Maple Lane, Ashtabula, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Feb. 13, 1926, in Butler, Pa., she was the daughter of Fred Gordon and Juanita (Wise) Christie.
She was employed at Reliance Electric for many years until her retirement.
Margaret was an active member of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula, where she was a member of the Women’s Group of the church. She enjoyed reading, cross word puzzles, sewing, was a Cleveland Indians fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving her are two sons, Thomas Hatmaker Sr. and Russell (Laura) Hatmaker, both of Ashtabula; five grandchildren, Tom Jr., Jacob, Sarah and Lucas Hatmaker and Joshua Hunter; a sister, Mary (John) Wyatt of St. Cloud, Fla.; and a special friend, Joan Mullen of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Delus Hatmaker in 1998; a son, Michael Hatmaker in 1986; and two brothers, Kenneth and Hugh Christie.
The family would like to thank Dr. A. Molinoff for his excellent care of their mother.
Funeral Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the Ashtabula Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS, INC., 526 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula, with the Rev. Arvid Whitmore, of the Trinity Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens in N. Kingsville, Ohio.
Calling Hours will be 6 to 8 p.m., today, May 9, at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions in her memory, can be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve or to the Trinity Presbyterian Church.
