KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Glade A. Trumbull, age 95, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Baptist West Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn.
Born Feb. 19, 1913, in S. Harpersfield Twp., he was a son to the late Arthur L. and Henrietta (Stoltz) Trumbull.
A Veteran, he served in the U.S. Coast Reserve during World War II, and worked most of his years for the Diamond Alkali (Ohio), and Diamond Shamrock (Wilmington, N.C.). He also owned and operated Frizzell’s Restaurant in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, for several years.
Glade is a member of the Pine Valley United Methodist Church in Wilmington, N.C., a life member of Masonic Temple Lodge #28 in Painesville, Ohio, Scottish Rite in Wilmington, N.C., and St. John’s Lodge #1 of Free and Accepted Mason in Wilmington, N.C.
Survivors include his daughter, Sonja (James) Berger; granddaughter, Christine (Wes) Crow, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; granddaughter Kayleen (Stephen) Self of Nashville, Tenn.; great-grandchildren, Alyson and Hannah Crow, and Kristopher and Kendra Self; nieces, Karen Anderson Rees of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Carol Anderson Gundersen of Westlake, Ohio; and nephew, James Trumbull Heath of Austinburg, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, the former Florence Erickson, whom he married on March 8, 1936; and sisters, Nathalic Barrett and Dorothy Heath.
Graveside Service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Trumbull Center Cemetery in Trumbull Twp., Ohio, with the Rev. Larry Wade officiating.
Friends and relatives will be received 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, May 9, 2008, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, Ohio.
