Published May 03, 2008 07:35 pm - Sunday, May 4, 2008 ASHTABULA — Yolanda Isabel (Ortega Flores) Kiss, age 72, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008, of cancer, surrounded by her loving husband Sandor of 48 years, her children, grandchildren, and sisters. Yolanda I. Kiss Sunday, May 4, 2008 Star Beacon ASHTABULA — Yolanda Isabel (Ortega Flores) Kiss, age 72, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008, of cancer, surrounded by her loving husband Sandor of 48 years, her children, grandchildren, and sisters.
Yolanda was born in Mexico. She was a caregiver for the sick and the elderly, and much beloved, for her devotion to her patients, with her endless tenderness, love and compassion for them. She loved the arts, especially the theater, and also classical music, opera, and traditional Mexican music. She was an avid quilter, and an expert cook and baker. She loved working and also spending time with her family, and was active at Mother of Sorrows Church, where she served on the Parish Council, and as president of the Altar and Rosary Society. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, the abundant goodness and generosity of her spirit, and her love for her friends and family. She is survived by her husband, Sandor G.; children, Alexander, Veronica Dahlberg, Charles, Daniel and Andrew (Misha); and her grandchildren Katherine, Gretchen, James (Camila), Patrick, Ruben, Raeana, and Scarlett; sisters, Hortencia, Maria, and Olivia; brother, Rodrigo; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rodrigo Flores Gonzalez Davila and Isabel Ortega Sanchez Moreno Araujo; and sisters Consuelo and Delia. In accordance with her wishes, a Memorial Mass in her honor will be 7 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2008, at Mother of Sorrows Church, 1464 W. 6 St., Ashtabula, Ohio, following cremation. In lieu of flowers, Yolanda asked that donations may be made in her name, to the Hispanic Ministry of Mother of Sorrows, 1514 W. 6 St., Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004. GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19 St., Ashtabula, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
