ASHTABULA — Daniel Ross Cooper III, age 65, died Monday, April 28, 2008, at Cleveland Clinic.
Born February 19, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of Daniel Ross, Jr. and Luella (Jennings) Cooper, and had been an area resident since 1965. He graduated from Lincoln High School in W. Virginia.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for Union Carbide and Elkem Metals.
A handyman, carpenter, and a Christian, he played guitar in his younger years and enjoyed 50’s and 60’s music, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana (William, Sr.) Sheppard of Ashtabula; two grandchildren, Dominique and William, Sheppard, Jr.; and one twin brother, Donald R. Cooper, of San Bernardino, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian D. (Edwards) Cooper on June 6, 2005; two sisters, Diana R. Cooper in infancy, and Harriet McCain; and his parents.
A Service will be held 6 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2008, at New Hope Pentecostal Church, 5917 West Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio, with the Rev. Neroy Carter, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville, at a later date.
No calling hours will be observed.
DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio are in charge of arrangements.
