Amboy halves pair of matches

— Amboy Rifle Club split a pair of matches at Corry, Pa. on Friday night.

The locals dropped both actual competitions, but prevailed in both handicaps.

Corry took the first actual, 1,914-1,839.

Amboy was led by Dennis Mitchell Jr.’s score of 384, followed by Paul Labounty (375), Zack Laugen (359), Greg Hahn (356) and R.D. “Sureshot” Best (347).

Corry also took the second actual, 1,938-1,856, as Calvin Johnson (379) paces the locals, followed by Mitchell Jr. (376), Labounty (373), Hahn (364) and Laugen (353).

Amboy won the first handicap, 41-15, as Labounty, Seth Santee and Dave Manupella all had 10, Best had eight and Mitchell Jr. three.

The locals took the second handicap as well, 40-11. Labounty, Katie Cline, Santee and Manupella all had 10.

Amboy, now 2-6 in actuals amd 5-3 in handicaps, will have a bye this week and return to action March 29 when it invades and looks to shell Albion, Pa.
