— It was another strong season for boys golfers in 2013 in Ashtabula County.

The 2013 Ashtabula County Boys Golf Player of the Year honor went to Lakeside senior, Anthony DeGeorge, the only county golfer to reach the district tournament, making it in Division I.

He is joined on the first team by fellow Dragons, Ryan Applebee (senior) and junior Kramer Getce.

Geneva tied for the second most selections on the first team as juniors Brandon Kovach and Ryan Nappi made the team.

Edgewood also had two first-team selections as Warrior sophomores Zac Wilpula and Jake Bleil each made the first team.

Grand Valley joined Edgewood and Geneva with two first team selections as senior Mustangs Kurt Kassay and Chandler Verhas each made the team.

Pymatuning Valley senior Tim Baker was the only Laker to make the team. Baker helped lead PV to its seventh-consecutive Northeastern Athletic Conference golf title.

Conneaut freshman Jake Kehoe was the lone Spartan on the team. He was also the only freshman to make it.

Rounding out the team is St. John junior Mike Zullo.
