Guernsey gashes way to W

Star Beacon

— Guernsey pounded out 18 hits and played errorless baseball in defeating Maumee, 15-4, in play at the Little League State Tournament on Sunday at Cederquist Park in Ashtabula.

C.J. Moore and Davis Black had three hits each for the winners, with Moore mashing a double and Black scoring twice.

They had plenty of company in the hit parade, though, as Dunavan Bichard had a homer and a single and scored twice, Hunter Yerian went yard and added a single, Tucker Rodgers doubled twice, Peyton Neff doubled and singled, Brady Blahner had two hits and Wyatt Urdak belted a twobagger.

Austin Pauken and Carter McGannon had doubles for Maumee.

Black (2 IP, 0 hits, 1 ER) and Neff (2 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 2 K) shared duties on the bump for Guernsey.
