For the second straight year, Madison High School tight end Nic DiLillo has been chosen one of the premier football players in Ohio.
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound DiLillo, who has made a verbal commitment to Ohio State, was chosen to the first team on the Associated Press Division II All-Ohio squad Monday. He helped lead the Blue Streaks to a share of their first state playoff game and a share of their first Premier Athletic Conference championship since 2002.
DiLillo is the only area player on the first or second team in either the Division II or Division I ranks released by the Associated Press, but he is not alone in receiving some sort of all-state recognition. Two of his Blue Streak teammates, offensive lineman Kyle Glass and offensive back-defensive back Nick Yeager were placed on the special-mention list in Division I.
In Division I, Riverside defensive back Lane Robilotto, who has verbally committed to Bowling Green, was a special-mention selection for the second straight year. Robilotto helped lead the Beavers to a share of their second successive PAC championship and Division I, Region 1 playoff appearance, where it lost to Mentor, which is in the Division I state championship game this week for the second consecutive year.
Announcement of the all-state selections for Division III and Division IV will be made today. All-state selections in Division V and Division VI will be announced Wednesday.
