GV’s Oscar earns best-of-week honors

— There may be a lot to be said for statistics, but there’s more to be said for rising in a pivotal moment.
That’s exactly what Anthony Oscar did, and because of it, he’s the first Ringer Screen Print Player of the Week.
Thrust into the starting lineup because of injury, the final 5 yards of Oscar’s 95-yard performance proved to be some of the most important thrown in the area last weekend.
Oscar’s 5-yard toss to A.J. Henson in overtime proved the winning score in the Lakers 27-26 triumph over Jefferson — a win that snapped a 10-game losing streak and a six-year slide against the Falcons.
Oscar will receive a sweatshirt courtesy of John Ringer and his fine staff at Ringer Screen Print, located at 2806 Route 307 East in Austinburg.
