CC Roundup: Kreider blazes on

Edgewood’s Mallory Kreider won the girls race at the University School Invitational on Saturday to aid the Warriors in a third-place team finish with 82 points.
Gilmour Academy took the team title with 21 points and Trinity was second with 74. Conneaut was sixth with 130 points.
Kreider finished the race in 20:28. Ashley DeForest was eighth for the Warriors in 22:58, Ashley Keenan took 18th in 24:33, Juliana Simmons was 21st in 24:52 and Elizabeth Kline was 34th (36th overall) in 29:34.
Hannah Fertig led the Spartans with s 13th-place finish in 23:26. Leanne Banyas (24:56) was 22nd, Jennifer Oxley (25:23) was 25th, Jennifer Hively (26:03) was 29th and Robin Arnold (46:24) was 41st (43rd overall).
n Billy Goat Invitational — Jefferson tallied 269 points in finishing 11th. Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy won with 21 points. Freshman Mikayla Hamilton fished 15th in 22:34 to lead the Falcons. Julia Mansfield (57th, 25:43), Brooke Orvos (63rd, 26:14), Kelsey Hruska (73rd, 27:44) and Amanda Twiggs (75th, 29:00) rounded out the scorers for Jefferson.
n Willoughby South Cross Country Invitational — Madison led a local contingent with a second-place team finish with 70 points. Riverside was fifth with 136 points, Geneva sixth with 180 points and Lakeside ninth with 225 points.
Shaker Heights won with 38 points.
All five Madison runners placed as a pack in 12th-16th place. India Kijauskas (12th, 22:34) led the way, followed by Lauren Hutchison (13th, 22:41), Jillanne Mackey (14th, 22:47), Laura Bruening (15th, 22:49) and Taylor Cline (16th, 22:56).
Riverside’s Cierra Hungerford was the best area finisher in fourth place in 21:03. Susie Nelson was eighth in 22:01. The rest of the Beavers were Susie Nelson (8th, 22:01), Annie Nelson (34th, 24:17), Jennafer Waters (68th, 27:58) and Mary Phelps (78th, 28:57).
Katie Eurich led the Dragons in 27th place in 23:46 followed by Brittany Barchanowicz (35th, 24:20).
Carly Cash paced Geneva in 32nd place in 24:05 and Alyssa Nieset was 37th in 24:31.
n Berkshire Early Bird Invitational — Brittany DiMare placed 13th of 215 in 21:41 for SS. John and Paul.
Boys
n University School Invitational — Cody Chabola, Thomas Butryn and Danny Hare finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to pace Edgewood to a third-place finish with 62 points.
Gilmour Academy won with 52 points and University School was second with 57 points. Conneaut was seventh with 180 points.
Chabola finished in 17:41, Butryn in 17:47 and Hare in 17:54. Travis Dickey was 26th (28th overall) in 19:45 and Sam Wyand was 27th (29th overall) in 19:48.
Casey Tagle paced the Spartans with an 18th-place finish 19:35. Alex Williams (32th place, 34th overall) finished in 20:23, Tevin Colbert (35th, 37th overall) came in at 20:43, Zach Harper (47th, 45th overall) was in at 21:51 and Ian Thompson (50th, 53rd overall) was in at 24:02.
n Billy Goat Invitational — Jefferson finished fifth with 169 points. Woodridge won with 44 points.
Eddie Robinson led the for the Falcons with a 20th-place finish in 18:32. Chris Kanton (22nd, 18:38), Seth Perry (36th, 19:55), Mike Ryan (44th, 20:25 and Johnny Powers (47th, 20:29) rounded out the Jefferson scorers.
n Willoughby South Cross Country Invitational — Riverside claimed the title with 43 points, Madison was sixth and, Lakeside seventh and Geneva eighth.
Drew Dioneff led the Dragons in 23rd-place in 18:59.

Junior high boys
n Billy Goat Invitational — Kurtis Taggart was 24th in 14:09 to lead the Jefferson runners. Curtis Morris was 41st in 14:58, Nick Hiltz 45th in 15:14 and Justin Stowers was 48th in 15:19.
Curtis Bell ran a 13:32 and finished 13th to lead Pymatuning Valley and Drew Wonderling was 22nd in 14:06. Maclane Nugent finished 85th in 18:31.
