Beast a bear so far for Post 743

The Beast of the East has proved to be a real bear for the Kingsville Post 743 Renegades baseball squad.
The locals will carry a 1-4 record into play today in the tournament, held on the campuses of Wheeling Jesuit and West Liberty universities.
The victory was a 2-1 triumph against the North Virginia Knights on Friday, with B.J. Severino smacking two hits, including a double, and scoring a run, Devon Anderson scoring the other.
Brian Joslin worked the first 4.2 innings on the mound to get the win, allowing three hits, one (unearned) one, striking out five and walking one. Anderson then came in and logged 2.1 innings before Tom Dunham was called on to record the final out, earning the save in the process.
The losses came this way:
n B.B. Rooners 5, Post 743 4 — Severino and Jake Savel each had two hits, Brian Fink driving in a pair, with Savel and Josh Bilbie belting doubles.
n Eastern Ontario Diamondbacks 10, Post 743 9 — Bobby Dragon had two RBI, while J.D. Drews and Andrew Showalter had doubles.
n Wheeling Post 1 8, Post 743 2 — Drews had the only hit for the locals, he and Dunham scoring runs.
n North Allegheny Tigers 9, Post 743 5 — Dragon, Jeff Imbrogno, Kevin Beduhn and Jordan Into all had two hits each, Dragon and Beduhn socking doubles.
Post 743, now 14-19 on the season, will resume play in the tournament today.
