Paige Palmer pitched a no hitter with 14 strikeouts for Madison No.1’s 6-2 victory over Perry during Major League softball action Wednesday night.
Amanda Nemeth was the leading hitter for Madison with two hits. Tayler Gustin had three runs scored.
n Ashtabula Marlins 2, Ashtabula Red Sox 1 — Cassidy Mollick came away with the win with 12 strikeouts and four walks. Mollick has a total of 105 strikeouts for the season for the Marlins.
Reilly DeGeorge led the Marlins at the plate with a home run.
Erika Van’t Veer of the Marlins had the game-winning knock to score Kasey Hague.
Alyssa Donato of the Red Sox had two singles and Alayna Hanna added a double.
Donato pitched well for the Red Sox, giving up one walk and striking out 11.
n Ashtabula Cardinals
16, Conneaut Braves 7 — Ashten Noce and Adria Mathers were the leading hitters for the Cardinals, both having three hits and three runs scored. Noce also had two RBI.
Kaitlynn Mayberry had two hits for the Cardinals and three RBI. Lauren Hodges and Jordan Scott both had two runs scored.
Noce was the winning hurler with eight strikeouts.
Alicia Nigiraingas led the Braves at the plate with a home run among her two hits and scored two runs. Katie Schwarfigure added two runs.
Emily Lower struck outfor the Braves.
n Kiraly’s Orchard Tigers 13, Grand Valley Chicks 2 — Tamara Olavarria was the winning pitcher and homered and singled at the plate with three RBI. Jordan Brunett added two singles and a double for the Tigers. Brianna Sturgill had a double, single and two RBI.
Kayla Novello of the Chicks had a double and single.
Senior SB
Kelsey Trask was the top hitter for the Phillies with a double, triple, home run and six RBI to lead her team to a 21-11 win over Thunder.
Stephanie Davis also had a big day at the plate for the Phillies with a single, double, home run and five RBI.
Davis was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts in her five innings, giving up but three hits.
Jamie Verno was on the mound for Thunder for four innings with three strikeouts.
Minor BB
Ian Katon was the winning pitcher for the White Sox in their 10-2 win over the Tigers with seven strikeouts.
Ty Winchell led the White Sox at the plate with a double and two singles. Ethan Czup had two singles and Katon doubled.
Jalen Miller of the Tigers had a double.
n Pirates 18, Giants 9 — Mike Coup was the leading hitter for the Pirates with a grand slam and three runs scored.
Jamie Oatman had four runs scored for the Pirates and both Ben Oatman and John Timonere had three runs.
Caleb Spring was the winning pitcher.
Tony Massucci homered among his two hits for the Giants and Tyler Pocatko had three runs.
n Phillies 11, A’s 6 — Phillies came back from being down 6-4 by scoring seven runs in one inning.
Mike Steele led the Phillies by reaching base three times, including a three-run homer. Kyle Cosiano, Connor Armstrong and Adam Colling all reached base two times and scored two times. Hunter Emus, Tyler Coy, and Keanu Cosiano reached base twice.
Cosiano, Steele and Ron Nickle all hurled for the Phillies.
