Lexi and Angie Zappitelli combined on a no-hitter to lead the Conneaut Braves to a 5-0 victory over the Geneva Eagles in major division softball action.
Lexi Zappitelli struck out 13 batters in five innings of work and helped herself at the plate with a double among three hits and two runs scored. Aleshia Zappitella added two hits and an RBI, Brenna Nelson cracked a two-run double and Angie Zappitelli had an RBI single and struck out two in an inning of relief work. Nicole Grimmett struck out nine batters for Geneva.

Two-run doubles by Becka Sacket and Brooke Sheaman helped power the Conneaut Pirates to a 14-11 win over the Conneaut Red Sox for the championship of Conneaut Local Youth Organization minor softball. Courtney Adkins and Brianna Oatman each added three hits and provided solid defense for the Pirates.
n Geneva Indians 13, Ashtabula Reds 10 — Brooke Furmage homered and singled to lead the Indians to victory. Zoie Fuller and Sarah Juncker each added two hits in support of Shayla Cross, who struck out 10 batters. Ashley Evans, Kailyn Vencill and Debra Watts each had two hits for the Reds.

Anthony Platt had two hits and seven RBI to keep the Wychock Physical Therapy Athletics undefeated with a 14-11 win over the Amy Clark Insurance Cardinals. Winning pitcher Modesto Lebron had two hits and two RBI as the A’s scored at least three runs in all but one inning, while Sean Prine contributed three hits and Reggie McHenry had two hits and three RBI. Chris Lucas, Jordan Palinkas and Jason Roy also had key hits for the A’s (11-0). Seth Bryant drove in three runs, Jake Perry had two hits and Emery Colvin added a hit for the Cardinals (3-7-1).

Gabe McLeod and Derek Rose each had three hits and scored twice to power the Geneva Indians to a 15-5 win over the Pymatuning Valley Blue Jays. Kyle Brass, Matt Hallgren and Eric Juncker each had two hits for the Indians, while Dakota Brininger scored three runs.
