Cochran powers A’s in victory

Paden Cochran blasted three hits and scored two runs to lead the Lovas Insurance Athletics past the Ashtabula Andover Bank Cubs, 7-2, in coach-pitch baseball action Monday.
Emma Kosicek added three hits and three RBI, while Barretta Morales had a hit and scored a run. Gavin Schiedel had two hits and an RBI for the Cubs, and Ishmael Santiago had a hit and an RBI.
n Geneva Tigers 24, Geneva Pirates 21 — Markel Joy smacked two doubles among his four hits to lead the Tigers’ offense while also turning an unassisted triple play. Adam Beiry, Grant Mihalick and Stellina Scacco all had four hits and four runs apiece.

Minor BB
Adam Fedler and Marcus Ernst each scored two runs and drove in two runs to lead the Ashtabula Angels past the Ashtabula Tigers, 7-4. Raffeale Giancok scored twice. Zach Pennimen, Spencer Selman, Tommy Steen and Nick Hammers each scored a run for the Tigers.
n MFG Research A’s 18, Ashtabula DQ Devil Rays 0 — Logan Sullivan smacked a grand slam, another homer and a triple and drove in seven RBI to lead the A’s, while Jimmy Holknecht added a triple, a double and five RBI. Kody Brown had three hits, including a double. and two RBI. Jeffrey McMillian doubled and Justin Hemmi had a hit. Caden Lucas, Austin Dickson and Cameron Lucas each drove in runs.

Major BB
Ian Barrett ripped three hits, including two doubles, and drove in two runs to lead the Red Sox past the Cardinals, 9-3. Kyle Downs added two doubles and two RBI. Tony Magda and Jesse Blair each had three hits, including a double. Bryce Tome doubled. Victor Tuttle had two hits for the Cardinals, including a three-run homer.
n Wychock Physical Therapy Athletics 20, Sports & Sports Padres 0 — Matt Kozlowski and Modesto Lebron each blasted three hits and drove in five runs to lead the Athletics, while Reggie McHenry had three RBI and Anthony Platt, Jason Roy and Aaron Belknap each had two RBI.

Frankie Clayman blasted four hits to lead the Ashtabula Yankees past Geneva G2, 21-4. Alex Rocco and Rex Dickey each had two hits, including a double, while Bruce Cox and Chris Estock each doubled. Adam Bahr had two hits.

Aaliyah Allgood smacked four hits, scored three times and drove in five runs to lead the Union Industrial Athletics past the Loudermilk Tractor Pirates, 23-8. Alexis Benedict added three hits and three runs scored, while Taylor Cochran had two hits and three RBI. Jamie Verno had two hits and scored three times. Megan Palm had two hits and scored twice to lead the Pirates, while Tamara Olavarria had two runs.
n Ashtabula Giant Eagle Phillies 35, Renew Plastics Reds 16 — Amber Kiphart ripped five hits, including two doubles, a grand slam and eight RBI to lead the Phillies, while Andria Gaynor had five hits and three RBI. Kelsey Gilmer had three hits and five RBI. Keila Concepcion smacked three hits and drove in three runs, and Jaclyn Taylor had four hits and three RBI. Tori Hunt added three hits, while Hannah Mcoy scored four times and had two hits. Jordan Burnett scored twice and had two hits. Leah Brady and Kaytee Candella each had two hits and three runs scored for the Reds.

Rusty Retallick smacked three hits, including a double, drove in four runs and scored twice to lead the Geneva Predators past the Nordonia Knights, 11-0. Billy Pitcher added three hits, including a double, and three runs scored, while Jeff Kohli had two hits and three RBI. J.W. Leitch had two hits.

14U BB
Jeromy Rockafellow ripped four hits, including a double, and scored three runs to lead the Grand Valley Mustangs past US Baseball, 13-2. Kevin Cedar added three hits, including a double, and two RBI and AJ Henson had three hits and three RBI. Adam Moodt smacked two hits, including a triple, and drove in three runs, while Mitchell Lake had two hits, including a double. Joey Satterfield scored twice and Seth Bixel drove in two runs.
