Led by a successful distance triple by senior Landon Hamilton and fine sprint efforts by Brandon Barrett, wins in eight of 17 events and two relays, the Pymatuning Valley boys track team won the Northeastern Athletic Conference Track Meet on its home all-weather Wednesday.

Hamilton won the 800-meter run in 2:04.1, the 1600-meter run in 4:37.1 and the 3200-meter run in 10:08.0 to lead the Lakers to 149 points to easily outdistance Lordstown with 94.

In the girls portion of the meet, PV finished fourth with 68 points. Lordstown won the girls title with 136 points.

Also providing the Laker boys with victories were Barrett in the 200-meter dash in 23.2 to lead a one-two finish with J.T. Throckmorton, who was runner-up in 23.3. Barrett also set a meet record in the 100-meter dash at 10.8, then led off the victorious 400-meter relay, which also included Tom Erwin, Steve Savel and Dustin Romanowski, which set a new meet record in 46.2. Jake Lautanen, Erwin, Romanowski and Throckmorton also hooked up to win the 800-meter relay in 1:36.1.

Josh Pilson provided the other victory by taking the discus at 125-7. Raymond Holmes was fourth in that event at 107-3. Pilson was also third in the shot put at 39-63⁄4.

PV also got seconds from Savel in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles at 43.5 and the shot put at 39-10. Andrew Smith was second in the long jump at 18-21⁄2.

Throckmorton was third in the 400-meter dash in 53.9. Jeff Hogan was third in the 110-meter high hurdles in 17.5

Kyle Eastlake finished fifth in the 1600-meter run in 5:01.1 and the 3200-meter run in 11:01.5. Jake Lautanen was fourth in the high jump at 5-6 and fifth in the long jump at 17-5. Erwin was fifth in the 100-meter dash at 11.5.

The 1600-meter relay of Jarrod Woodard, Tyler Polchin, Throckmorton and Hamilton finished sixth in 3:52.3, while the 3200-meter relay of Dustin Waid, Marcus Cunningham, Tom Fink and Brandon Dewey was also sixth in 10:29.4. Matt Lautanen was sixth in the high jump at 5-6 and Ray Nevison was sixth in the 100-meter high hurdles in 19.1.

Two PV girls won events. Josey Workman took the high jump at 5-2 and Colleen Wonderling won the shot put at 31-31⁄2.

Workman also finished second in the long jump at 14-7, while Trisha Gruskiewicz was second in the 3200-meter run in 14:01.5.

The Laker girls got thirds in the 400-meter relay in 57.9 from Stephanie Mason, Wonderling, Workman and Nicole Virostek. The 3200-meter relay of Felicia Morrison, Taylor Gruskiewicz, Trisha Gruskiewicz and Brittany Edison was also third in 11:48.0.

Fourths came from Morrison in the 1600-meter run in 6:25.7 and Virostek in the 100-meter dash in 13.8. Fifths were earned by Wonderling in the discus at 76-1, Taylor Gruskiewicz in the 800-meter run in 2:55.7, Julia Starr in the 100-meter hurdles in 20.1, the 1600-meter relay of Tessa Ault, Mason, Taylor Gruskiewicz and Edison in 5:16.8 and the 800-meter relay of Tessa Kellar, Taylor Corson, Workman and Virostek in 2:02.8.

Amber Smith was sixth in the shot put at 25-61⁄2, while Trisha Gruskiewicz was sixth in the 300-meter hurdles in 58.6.
