Softball Roundup: Krueger pitches a gem

Samantha Krueger twirled five innings of no-hit softball to carry Harvey past Orange, 10-0, Tuesday in a Division II sectional semifinal at Recreation Park.
Krueger struck out seven and walked none. TaLissa Wright drove in two runs for the Red Raiders (5-14).
Harvey will play at No. 2 seed Lake Catholic today in the sectional championship.

CVC Valley
n Grand Valley 11, Fairport 6 — Kelly Wagner rapped two hits, including a double, scored two runs and drove in three more as the Mustangs (7-14, 4-6) surpassed last season’s win total. Brittany Satterfield and Kristen McClintock each had two hits for Grand Valley, Robyn Moodt scored twice and Randi Woodworth doubled.

DI North sectional
n Madison 5, Chardon 1 — Bri Hinz struck out nine, walked two and allowed one earned run on six hits to lead the Blue Streaks (12-9) to the sectional semifinal win. Tawna Whited tripled and Jules Brotzman doubled for Madison. The Blue Streaks will play top-seeded North in a sectional championship today at North.
