Tennis Roundup: Dragons serve up a PAC triumph

Lakeside warmed up for today’s Division I sectional tennis tournament at Brush High School in style with a 5-0 win over Riverside and also set up a Premier Athletic Conference title clash with Chardon on May 21 at Lakeside. The two teams have just one loss apiece in the PAC.
The Dragons (14-7, 8-1) yielded just six games in the entire match to the Beavers. The doubles teams of Hutch Dannels and Justin Trisket and Chase Brown and Justin Shinault shut out their opponents.
Stephen Shinault at second singles lost just one game, while Jacob Kerosky surrendered just two games. Jeramy Fobes had the most competitive match at third singles and still lost just three games.

With the loss of just 10 games, Conneaut defeated Harvey, 5-0. The second-doubles team of Nick Koehler and Scott Lowery led the assault for the Spartans (10-8, 3-5) with a shutout. Justin Brown was a 6-1, 6-0 winner at first singles, Cody Gibson took a 6-0, 6-2 victory at third singles and Zach Rhodes and Nick Terry were 6-1, 6-2 winners at first doubles. The most competitive match was Cody Ledlow’s 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lavonte Green of Harvey (1-16, 0-8) at second singles.
