Coach Tiffany Lindberg’s Beavers, who advanced to the regional tournament last spring, scored five times in the home half of the first and never looked back, pounding out 17 hits en route to the victory. With the win, Riverside (5-17) advances to a sectional championship game today at third-seeded South. Alyssa Woltman led the hit parade for the Beavers, smashing a grand slam, a triple and a single, driving in four runs. Amanda Walsh had four hits, including a double, while Erica Tanski had three hits. Brittany Breedlove had two hits, including a double, and Anna Tribuzzo and Melissa Cardina also had two hits. Aundria Atwell (2-0) was credited with the win on the mound. Glenville bows to 6-4 with the loss. CVC Valley n Grand Valley 17, Fairport 9 — Coach Krystal Henson’s Mustangs matched their win total from a year ago as they clubbed 14 hits in the win. Iyer Pallavi paced the attack with four hits and two RBI, while Chelsea Hanck (3 hits, double), Robyn Moodt (2 hits), Brittany Satterfield (2 RBI), Kelly Wagner (2 RBI), Stacy Moody (2 runs) and Kristen McClintock (3 runs) also made solid contributions to the cause for GV (6-14, 3-6). Non-conference n PV 9, Jackson-Milton 0 — Freshman hurler Celine Pollander earned her 11th win on the mound, firing a one-hit shutout, striking out eight to lead the Lakers. At the plate, freshman Amanda Tennant had three hits and four RBI, while Jenn Tennant (triple), Kasey Landis (2 doubles) and Kayla Landis all had a pair at the Lakeris won their 18th game (18-6).
