They are Asdrubal Cabrera, Jamey Carroll, Ryan Garko, Franklin Gutierrez, Andy Marte, Victor Martinez, Jhonny Peralta and Grady Sizemore. n ARMCHAIR GMs — Indians manager Eric Wedge said he does not believe this year’s offensive woes could have been avoided with a more active offseason. “I don’t think we could have made a stronger effort without selling out,” Wedge said. “The time and effort we put in was real. Still, a real bad deal is a real bad deal. We’ve got plenty of time to get these guys going. There is a lot of good work being done, a lot of good conversations being had.” n ALUMNI REPORT — Four shortstops who were once part of the Indians system are with the Blue Jays — Marco Scutaro, John McDonald, Joe Inglett and Hector Luna. McDonald, who still lives in Cleveland, made the trip despite having been placed on the disabled list Thursday with a high ankle sprain. Inglett was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday to replace injured Vernon Wells. Scutaro is Toronto’s starting shortstop and Luna is with Syracuse. n ON THE FARM — Triple-A Buffalo 1B Michael Aubrey was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI Friday during a 4-3 win at Rochester. Aubrey, promoted from Double-A Akron on May 2, is batting .360 (9-for-25) in six games with the Bisons.
