Alex Taylor struck out 12 in the loss. n Conneaut Red Sox 7, Braves 5 — Quinn Rudler smacked the go-ahead double and drove in three runs anmong two hits for the Red Sox. Joey Burt struck out all nine batters he faced, singled twice, tripled nad scored two runs and Cole Walker had two triples in two at bats and scored three runs. Major BB n Ashtabula Braves 10, Indians 8 — Dave Rose homered, Jake Cimorelli slapped three hits and Jordan Lopez added two more for the Braves. Kramer Getce and Andrew Graeb rapped two hits each for the Indians. n Ashtabula Red Sox 11, Angels 1 — Ryan Wolford spanked two doubles, singled and drove in a pair and Tony Magda singled twice, tripled and had three RBI for the Red Sox (3-0). Jesse Blair (2 RBI), Kyle Downs, Ian Barrett and Matt Vencill (2 RBI) all had two hits. Zach Hutchinson doubled for the Angels. Minor SB n Ashtabula Marlins 14, Indians 2 — Kasey Hague whiffed eight and allowed just one hits and Madeline Martino struck out all three batters she faced for the Marlins. Marissa Blizzard and Hague (triple) each had three hits, Erika van’tVeer, Martino, Chantelle Lucas and Giana Varchetto (double) all had two hits and Isabella DeCamillo doubled. n Conneaut Pirates 18, Ashtabula Reds 8 — Jessica Volkman struck out 10 in her first minor league game for the Pirates. She was also 3-for-3 with two RBI. Briana Oatman and Tatum Sanford each had three hits in three trips and each drove in three runs and Becka Sackett had two hits and two RBI. Junior BB n Jefferson 13, Conneaut Mets 1 — Johnny Knight twirled a one-hitter for Jefferson. T.J. Edwards had the Mets’ lone hit.
