Taylor Fetters was in complete command for the Ashtabula Marlins on Monday in Ashtabula Major Softball action, throwing a no-hitter, striking out 14 batters and walking only one of the Ashtabula Cardinals as the Marlins earned a 7-1 victory.
Courtney DiDonato had a two-run double for the Marlins, while Felicia Leonard contributed a two-run single. Cardinals pitcher Ashten Noce struck out seven Marlin batters.

Andrew Graeb led the Ashtabula Indians to a 4-2 victory in their opener with the Ashtabula Yankees. Graeb struck out 15 Indians and limited the Yankees (0-1) to just one hit by Trace Carter. Graeb also provided three hits, while Kramer Getce also had three hits for the Indians (1-0) and Brian Smith added a double. Alec Graeb, Nick Tolbert and Nick Vincenzo also had hits for the Indians.

A two-run double by Joe Fusco helped break open a pitcher’s duel and gave the Pirates an 8-0 victory over the Giants. Winning pitcher Tyler Griffith also contributed a key double, while Caleb Spring hit a two-run single and Cody Taggart added a triple.
