GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE — A routine traffic stop lead to a methaphetamines lab bust at a South Spencer Drive residence Wednesday evening, said Geneva-on-the-Lake Police Chief Jim Bruckman.

“We had a traffic stop and there was evidence (of a methamphetamines operation) in the car,” Bruckman said. He said the traffic stop occurred around 10:30 a.m.

Bruckman said the Ashtabula County Prosecutor’s Office prepared a search warrant that was served Wednesday evening between 6:30 and 7 p.m. at a South Spencer Drive residence.

He said a variety of items related to the production of methamphetamines were seized and the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Department handled the “neutralization” of the lab.

Bruckman said it was an average sized methamphetamines operation.

He said one male is in jail and a second suspect could face charges soon. “There could be several others,” said of more people that could eventually be charged.
