HARPERSFIELD TOWNSHIP — The Friends of the Harpersfield Township Covered Bridge Metropark are hungry for some results.
The “Friends” organization will host a pasta dinner Feb. 10 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. to help raise money to “raise the roof” on the pavilions at the park.
The third annual dinner, to be held at the Harpersfield Community Center, is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the metropark.
“All proceeds this year will be used to repair and replace the roofing on the pavilions. You might say we are ‘raising the roof’ on this project!” Friends chairperson Denise Weinmann said.
The park has three pavilions, and all need new roofs. Labor has been donated for the project, but building materials must be purchased.
The event will include live music, a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle.
Dinner includes pasta, meatballs, salad, roll, beverage and dessert. Tickets are $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and kids under 10 years old eat for $4.
Tickets are available in advance or at the door.
“If you purchase your ticket in advance, you get a free ticket for the Chinese auction,” Weinmann said. “The pasta dinner is a great opportunity for all to get out, mingle with family and friends and have a good time.”
Donations of auction items are needed to support the fundraiser. For more information or to donate an item, call Weinmann at 477-5001.
