Pymatuning Lake Fest offers family fun along the lake

ANDOVER — Pymatuning Lake Fest, one of the biggest and longest-running festivals in Ashtabula County, Ohio, returns for its 31st year of family fun along the lake on Saturday to Sunday, Aug. 3-4.

The Pymatuning State Park main beach area (located at 5354 Pymatuning Lake Road, Andover), south of the Route 85 causeway, is the staging area for the large event featuring artisans and crafters, continuous entertainment both days, activities, rides and games, inflatable activities, pontoon boat rides, food concessions, a beauty pageant and contests for all ages.

The event is fun for the entire family, and this year’s festival will have the largest turnout ever of crafters, commercial booths and great food, Andover Chamber of Commerce President Pamela Harting said.

The Lake Fest is one of the biggest and longest running festivals in the county. It draws upwards to 15,000 people over the two days.

“Families can come to our event, enjoy the weather and enjoy the beautiful lake,” Harting said.

Musicians from northeast Ohio and Pennsylvania are among the stage performers.

On Saturday, Aug. 3, one big feature is the Little Miss Pymatuning pageant from 10:30 a.m. to noon. There will be a large car show from 1 to 4 p.m. The car show features vintage historic cars, trucks and motorcycles.

“Our live entertainment schedule has something for everyone,” Harting said.

The Chamber is proud to be able to provide this family festival with the help of sponsors and Pymatuning-area businesses.

The entrance to the festival grounds will be south on Pymatuning Lake Road, not off the causeway highway. The causeway is an exit-only route now. There is a donation requested at the ticket gates for visitors.

Hours for the Lake Fest are 10 a.m. to dusk on Saturday, with a fireworks finale at about 9:15 p.m. Sunday hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. An all-day wristband for inflatable activities is $5, and the rest of the activities are free. All dogs must be on a leash, and there will be a parking lot shuttle service. There are numerous activities and events around the lake at the same time of the festival.
