Spiderweb to hold first 5-K race and family fun walk

JEFFERSON — Spiderweb announces the “Kenny’s 5-K race and Meredith’s Family Fun 1-mile Walk” to be held Oct. 12.

The race starts at the Jefferson United Methodist Church with registration at 7 a.m. and the race to start at 8 a.m. The walk will start shortly after the start of the race.

Registration materials can be picked up at Spiderweb during normal business hours, e-mailed upon request or found at The first 100 pre-registered runners will receive a free long sleeve T-shirt. Pre-registration ends Sept. 30. Running awards will be given to the top overall three men and women and the top male and female in each age category. All children registered to walk will receive a participation ribbon.

This race is being held in memory of Kenetta (Kenny) Serwatka who served as the director of Spiderweb for 25 years. The family fun walk is in memory of the Rev. Meredith Coleman who was a longtime Spiderweb board member.
